Aalborg extend contract with Henrik Mollgaard

Aalborg Handball extends the collaboration with Henrik Møllgaard by another year, so the agreement now runs until summer 2025.

Legendary Danish defensive specialist played 390 matches for Aalborg and will continue:

“It is impossible to imagine Aalborg Handball without Henrik Møllgaard. He continues to have a huge impact both on and off the pitch, and he is a fantastic ambassador for the club. As long as he can contribute on the pitch, age is just a number, and we are extremely happy that Henrik is taking another season at the club,” says director Jan Larsen.

The 38-year-old national team player first joined the club in 2009, where it lasted three seasons. In 2018, he returned, and the extension means that he completes ten seasons in the red shirt.

“I am not done at all, neither with playing handball nor with Aalborg Handball. With the ambitions and belief in things we have, we dare to dream big, and I also have high expectations for the coming season. I want to play at as high a level as I can, and it is Aalborg Handball that my heart beats for,” says Henrik Møllgaard.

Møllgaard helped win the club’s first title in 2010, and since then it has resulted in three further DM golds, two cup championships, four Super Cup titles – and not least the beautiful silver medal at the Machineseeker EHF Champions League in 2021. In Danish national team he has over the years, won three times WC gold and gold at the Olympics in 2016.
