During the first round of the EHF Champions League, which Industria Kielce played at home in the Hala Legionów against RK Zagreb, team captain Alex Dujshebaev suffered a calf injury. The injury also ruled him out of the game against HBC Nantes last Wednesday.
According to club doctor Dr. Rafał Wójciki, the player was initially suspected of having a very severe contusion. – However, after performing ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging tests, we found that there was an extensive rupture and damage to the belly of the gastrocnemius muscle. There are also extensive edematous changes – says Dr. Wójcicki.
Alex Dujshebaev is already undergoing treatment. He received plasma, which accelerates the regeneration and healing of torn muscle fibers. – The minimum rehabilitation period is eight to twelve weeks. After this time, imaging tests will be repeated. If the condition of the muscles and tissues is adequately regenerated, then the player will be able to return to training and play – informs Dr. Rafał Wójcicki.
