One of the best left wings in the last decade in handball world, Anders Eggert, announced that will finish career in the summer 2021.
The European champion with Denmark and EHF Champions League winner with SG Flensburg Handewitt has decided that it was enough:
– The time is right. I feel clarified that this season will be the last for me, even though it is incredibly sad, says Anders Eggert, who has scored 581 goals for Denmark in 160 international matches.
Eggert returned to Skjern Handball in 2017 after ten seasons in Flensburg-Handewitt, where the Westerners took home the Danish championship in the left wing’s first season after returning to Denmark.
– The thought of stopping my career has popped up in my head a few times over time, but each time I have pushed it away. Now the decision has been made and there is no going back. Fortunately, I am injury-free, I feel in top form and in the playing mood of a good team, so the goals are big for my last season in green, says Anders Eggert.
The 38-years Eggert was Danish player of the Year twice.
