After the withdrawal of Torrevieja from the Spanish ASOBAL league and their request to play in a lower local league, now another club has followed the same steps – SDC San Antonio. A what was formerly known and feared in European handball as – Amaya Sport San Antonio, also previously having the name Portland due to their sponsors, will now be leaving the ASOBAL league due to lack of funds to compete in Spain’s elite league next season. The reason is that the sponsor Amaya Sport withdrew from sponsoring the club, and the club has not found it impossible to find 50,000 euros for the license, as well as funds to guarantee that the players will receive a minimum wage.
