The Olympic multidisciplinary installations of Palau Sant Jordi (with a capacity of up to 16.500 people) will host 3 matches in the qualifying stage, 4 matches in the round of 16, 2 matches in the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, final and third-place play-off.
The choice of the Palau Sant Jordi was made possible after the City Council of Barcelona proposed the city to host the World Championship. The City Council has announced that in addition to host the games, a program to promote women’s and child handball will be organized in schools together with the Catalan and Spanish Federations.
