Christian Berge won’t be a successor of Ljubomir Vranjes at SG Flensburg Handewitt! As Norwegian national team coach said for TV2.no, he won’t “jump off” the team with whom he plans to make a big things in the future, like it was at France 2017, where Scandinavians won silver medal.
- During the World Championship, I said that one day we will be at the top. When I say it, I can’t jump off – said Berge, who also admitted that there were no “concrete offer from the German team”. He stated also that he is happy in Elverum and about desire to stay there with his family – two kids and wife.
- Team is so young and talented. We may be doing something really good here. I am so impressed with the Gøran Johannessen, Magnus Abelvik Red and Eivind Tangen on their first big championship. And Thorbjorn Bergerud, of course. With more experience and more training, there are opportunities for them to be truly good – concluded Berge, who overtook position of Norwegian NT coach in 2014 after Robert Hedin resigned.
The fourth place at EHF EURO 2016 in Poland and silver at World Championship 2017 are just the first products of his class…
