ARBITRATION HELD: HSV HANDBALL OBTAIN THE LICENSE UNDER STRICT CONDITIONS AND OBLIGATIONS.
After intense eight-hour negotiations held today in Minden, the arbitral tribunal has decided to approve the agreement that will grant HSV Handball the license for the 2014/15 Bundesliga season, under strict conditions and obligations.
The arbitral tribunal presided by Frank Lau in presence of DKB Handball-Bundesliga and HSV Handball representatives, had authorized HSV Handball the license, on condition that the guarantee of liquidity is presented to the DKB Handball-Bundesliga governing body by 1 July 2014.
If the above is done on the part of the HSV handball within the specified period, the license shall be considered. Furthermore, the granting of the license is linked to fulfillment of other financial conditions in millions of Euros.
The HSV Handball had earlier filed an appeal against the decision of the independent Licensing Commission to deny them a license for the 2014/15, which was unanimously rejected by the DKB Handball-Bundesliga.
HSV went to the arbitration court as the last possible instance to save the famous club from relegation.
Following today’s decision of the Arbitration Court, it is also clear that the HBW Balingen is now relegated to the second handball league.
