Just few hours after EHF announced that Netherlands cancelled Women’s EHF EURO 2012 organisation, many handball nation showed their willingness to organise this competition despite very short time – five months to organise everything:
– I can’t tell you anything official, but we are ready to organise event, if EHF wants to give us organisation. They told us that EHF EURO 2012 in January was the best organised ever, so we have all necessary resources for make another fantastic tournament – told Bozidar Djurkovic for Serbian Press.
Step ahead is Romanian Federation:
– I already sent a letter of intent to EHF. I wrote them that I have great confidence in Romania’s capacity to organize the tournament, after 2000. I discussed with Prime Minister Victor Ponta, Carmen Tocală of ANSTI, everyone has seen positive our intention. So, we announced four main locations, namely Bucharest, Piatra Neamt and Craiova, with halls by 5000 seats plus Cluj with 7500 seats. We are excited about this opportunity. I know that several countries want to organize EHF EURO 2012 as Hungary for example, but we must defend our interests – said president, Cristian Gatu for AFP.
Macedonians are also ready to organise EHF EURO 2012 in cooperation with Serbia
There is unofficial information that Scandi-trio, Norway, Denmark and Sweden are also interested to take responsibilty of organisation.
