German NT goalkeeper Carsten Lichtlein (33) will play for VfL Gummersbach in the next three years with an option for one season more. Despite their problems with the level of results and relegation battle second year in a row, Gummersbach has still great plans for the future as one of the most succesful teams in the history of handball. New Schwalbe Arena will be ready for the upcoming season with 4132 seats with some new energy and roster of coach Enid Kurtagic:
– I am very proud that one German NT player decided to come in our team in current situation – said Frank Flatten, VfL secretary general.
Lichtlein is coming from TBV Lemgo, where he played since 2005. He is the first “option” of Martin Heuberger for Silvio Heinevetter.
