Dean Bombac to leave Szeged after 8 years?

Reconstruction of the team of Hungarian vice-champions Pick Szeged are on the way. The team from the South of Hungary is in the first season of “post-Pastor” era which lasts for 10 years with the Spanish coach.

From the next season, the team will be overtaken by Swedish coach Michael Appelgren who club’s legend Jonas Kallman will assist.

Until “Scandi way” the team is successfully led by one of the best Hungarian coaches of the younger generation Kristian Karpati and Serbian coach Vladimir Jordovic, who is also director of Pick Szeged Academy.

However, it looks like that team at the beginning of “Scandi era” will look quite different than it is now and it was.

One of the leaders and protagonists of the attacking style in Pick Szeged, Dean Bombac, is going to leave the club at the end of his contract in summer 2024 according to Handball-Planet.com sources.

The 34-year-old Slovenian playmaker playing his 8th season in Szeged’s jersey, the sixth in a row after he moved to Kielce from Szeged between 2016 and 2018.

Where will be his next destination, it will be known in the upcoming weeks.
