Dean Bombac is new Győri ETO-UNI FKC maestro
Dean Bombac will be the new player of Hungarian team Győri ETO-UNI FKC. The 35-years old Slovenian playmaker coming from Pick Szeged to sign three-years contract with the leader of Second Hungarian League, but team with strong desire to comeback among the best, where they were as the club with strong tradition in domestic handball.
“I am very happy to announce that we managed to reach an agreement with Dean Bomba, who will move its headquarters from Szeged to Győr from the summer. People who are skilled in men’s handball circles do not need to present the world-class quarterback, as in recent years he has been a determining player of both the Hungarian and the international arenas. We have high hopes for it, as we have signed a prestigious player capable of a world-class performance in several positions. We are counting on Dean on and off the pitch to achieve the goals of the club. Győr is a systematically building club and our vision Dean and his role is an important building strip, on which we will build on a wider scale. Dean and István Mátés will lead the team next year, who together embody the experience, the high level of knowledge and perseverance. Welcome to Dean, here in Győr. Let Győr be her second home and I wish Dean to be happy here with us. We are waiting for it from the summer, but in the meantime I wish him good luck in his current club” – said Rita Uhlig, managing director of Győri ETO-UNI FKC.
“I’m very excited to join a rebuilt, long-established club from the summer. I am looking forward to getting to know my new teammates, the whole crew, the fans and Győr itself. I join an ambitious club, where not only the team, but also the city of Győr is hungry for the success of ETO in the highest division to shine as a star in the men’s handball again. Based on the negotiations in advance, I am absolutely sure that the club has high goals and cities for the future. I love challenges and I am happy to participate in the achievement of goals. I am happy to continue my career in Hungary, in a city where handball has a great tradition and great respect for both women’s and men’s lines. The men’s handball in Győr has a past, but I personally will work to make it a stable future. We will work on this together next season. Meet me at the Magvassy Mihály Sports Hall next season.” – said Dean Bombac.
In Gyor will play also experienced Hungarian NT right back Zsolt Balogh from FTC.
