Dean Bombac is new DHfK Leipzig captain
Dean Bombač has been named the new captain of SC DHfK Leipzig ahead of the upcoming 2. Bundesliga season. The Slovenian playmaker takes over the armband from long-serving captain Lukas Binder, who will remain an important leader in the squad as vice-captain.
Bombač joined Leipzig in December 2025 to strengthen the team in their battle against relegation. Although SC DHfK were unable to secure Bundesliga survival, the experienced Slovenian decided to extend his contract and stay with the club.
The coaching staff, led by Frank Carstens, selected Bombač as the new captain after he quickly established himself as a key leader and took on responsibility from the moment he arrived.
Binder will serve as his deputy, with the experienced duo expected to lead Leipzig’s push for an immediate return to the Bundesliga.
