Dean Bombać fireman in Leipzig!

Coach change followed by the arrival of a brilliant Slovenian centre back.

The alarm has been sounded in Leipzig, with the Bundesliga status of a club that has been a stable top-flight side for years now under serious threat.

Dean Bombać has joined the rescue mission after parting ways last week, officially, with Hungarian side Győr.

Bombać is set to play in the Bundesliga for the first time in his long career, a special chapter of which was written at Pick Szeged, where he spent a total of eight years across two spells.

The playmaker from Koper has also worn the shirts of Kielce, Dinamo Minsk and France’s Aix, while it all began at the once-powerful Cimos Koper, a former EHF Champions League quarter-finalist.

Leipzig have collected only three points after 15 rounds and, along with Wetzlar, are in the relegation zone.
