ETO University handball team and Dean Bombac part ways!

He was the first big-name signing that the men’s team from Győr (ETO University Handball Team) managed to bring in as part of its ambitious push into the Hungarian elite, and he departs after a year and a half.

A true handball master, Slovenian centre back Dean Bombač, has mutually parted ways with the Hungarian top-flight club, which managed to establish itself in the upper half of the league already in its first season.

The 36-year-old playmaker left a major mark playing for Pick Szeged, from where he moved a bit further west with the idea of helping to build something new in a country where handball holds a special status.

“Our club would like to thank Dean Bombac for his efforts invested in men’s handball in Győr and wishes him much success in the continuation of his career,” reads Győr’s official statement.
