Drago Vukovic ends career – Lackovic and Zrnic still active of Croatian golden Olympics 2004 squad

VfL Gummersbach are relegated after few decades from DKB Bundesliga.

One of the biggest names in the roster of the team from Schwalbe Arena in the last season was Croatian playmaker Drago Vukovic.

The 36-years old back-line player won’t help his team-mates on the way back to German handball elite, as he decided to finish professional career.

Vukovic was a part of the golden Croatian squad at Olympic Games 2004 in Athens. He played at RK Split, RK PPD Zagreb, RK Gorenje, VfL Gummersbach, Fuchse Berlin and TUS Lubbecke.

Vukovic won IHF Super Globe and EHF Cup with Fuchse Berlin, two Cup Winners Cups and EHF Cup with Gummersbach.

Blazenko Lackovic and Vedran Zrnic are only two active players from 2004 generation.
