EHF EURO 2014 PREDICTION: Danish golden time!

Handball-Planet.com trying to give the best possible prediction before every big handball event. The next one – Men’s EHF EURO 2014 starts next Sunday in Denmark which will bring a lot of joy and excitement to all handball lovers across the globe.

DENMARK – NO.1

Germany won WCh 2007 at home court as Spain did the same last year in Barcelona. Serbia took silver medal at the last EHF EURO 2012 in front of 20.000 domestic fans. There is no doubt that the clear favorite for winning the gold in Herning on January 26 is home squad – Denmark. Defending European champion and World’s vice-champions have even bigger motive to make the last tournament of Ulrik Wilbek unforgetable.

CROATIA – SECOND BEST

World’s best player in this moment Domagoj Duvnjak will lead Croats to the only crown which they don’t have.  This could be the last chance for Blazenko Lackovic and Igor Vori to make the “hat-trick” and after World’s and Olympic gold win European one.  It will be almost impossible to beat Denmark, the team for which they didn’t find a “key” which isn’t a case with the French “Experts”…

spain_serbiaFRANCE – SPAIN “BRONZE BATTLE”

Despite all the injuries French back line with Karabatic, Narcisse, Accambray is still fantastic alongside with quality and experienced wings and defense in general. They didn’t say their last word, but Danish soil isn’t the perfect place for winning the tournament.  Spain will have a lot of problems to find substitution for Arpad Sterbik. That could cost Manolo Cadenas a medal on his first competition…

5, 6… HUNGARY, SERBIA…

European vice-champion Serbia has right to believe in fantastic achievement once again, but this time is more realistic to see them on the position 5 or 6. New head-coach Vladan Matic brought some new energy to the squad consisted of some TOP names, but it would be very difficult to finish ahead of Croatia and France at the end…

Hungarian chances to finish among TOP 4 are much weaker without Laszlo Nagy. He is a real leader of the team, someone who doesn’t look who is on the other side of the court. That could be their biggest minus in the decisive moments…

7 – 8 SWEDEN, ICELAND

Swedish team without Kim Andersson have no chance for serious medal battle in neighborhood, but still is capable to make a lot of problems to other teams on their was to the final weekend.  On the other side Icelanders will be without Alexander Petersson, the biggest engine of their attack. Iceland has no capacity to play for the semis…

9-10… POLAND – MACEDONIA

Polish team is ready to make some unpredictable results, but still that won’t be enough for serious semi-finals campaign. German coach Michael Biegler is on the way to make a team ready to fight for the medal at EHF EURO 2016 at home. Country of the biggest investments in handball has bigger NT quality year by year. Macedonia will play without the first playmaker and one of the leaders Naumce Mojsovski and that will be the biggest problem for head-coach Ivica Obrvan.

11.-12 – CZECH REPUBLIC – BELARUS

Filip Jicha and co. could find their place at the Main Round after poor performance in Serbia two years ago. Rutenka will take a leading role in Belarus team, but some other players also showed a great progress in current season…

13.-16 AUSTRIA, NORWAY, RUSSIA, MONTENEGRO

Russia and Montenegro have a lot of problems wth injuries and relation with the NT duties. Austria and Norway will have more chances to find their place at the Main Round.

Spain will teach the Danes a lesson when it comes to handball. I do not even know why Denmark is number 1 at the expense of France. The Danes lost to the Spaniards by 16 goals during the handball world cup final in Barcelona. In my opinion, we the French are number 1.

    1. France
    2. Croatia
    3.Spain
    4.Germany
    5. Denmark
