EHF Youth Champions League 2024/2025 begins in April

A new format for U18 handball has been introduced in connection with the EHF Champions League.

The new competition, called the EHF Youth Club Competition, involves U18 teams from the 16 clubs participating in the EHF Champions League 2024/25.

These teams are divided into four geographically based groups, each hosting its own qualification tournament. The winners of these tournaments will advance to a final round, which will take place alongside the EHF Final4 in Cologne.

Qualification for the Final Four Takes Place in April

  • In Barcelona, the home team’s U18 squad will compete against PSG, Nantes, and Sporting.
  • In Veszprém, the teams are Zagreb, Szeged, Veszprém, and Vojvodina.
  • In Berlin, the competition features Füchse, Magdeburg, GOG, and Sävehof.
  • In Bucharest, the matches will be between Dinamo, Kielce, Plock, and Eurofarm Pelister.

The qualification tournaments will follow a semifinal and final format, with the winner of each group advancing to the final round in Cologne.

In total 13 out of the 16 Champions League clubs are participating in this new U18 competition. Aalborg, Fredericia, and Kolstad have opted out and have been replaced by GOG, Vojvodina, and IK Sävehof.
