From 23 to 28 June 2014, the Handball Federation of El Salvador will host the IHF Trophy Tournament of the Central American Zone.
Six junior teams in both men’s and women’s category will fight over the course of 5 competition days for a spot on the Continental Phase for Pan America which will take place early in 2015. The tournament in El Salvador is the first one of the Pan American set of tournaments with future three coming up in Martinique, Puerto Rico and Colombia later this year.
The teams will be divided into two groups of three playing on round robin basis, with semi finals and finals after the preliminary round.
The group in both gender are composed as follows:
Group A: El Salvador, Guatemala and Panama
Group B: Costa Rica, Honduras and Nicaragua
Guatemala won the Competition in the previous competition cycle by winning the men’s and the women’s tournament in Nicaragua.
The Finals will be played on Saturday 28 June 2014. The entire match schedule can be seen below.
