Fabian Wiede ruled out for the season

Füchse Berlin have confirmed that playmaker Fabian Wiede will miss the rest of the season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee during the EHF Champions League win away at Veszprém. The 91-cap German international landed awkwardly after an aerial challenge and had to be carried off the court.
An MRI scan in Berlin confirmed the severity of the injury. Wiede, who has been with Füchse since his youth days, faces a long rehabilitation process — his first cruciate ligament rupture in a career marked by several injury setbacks.
Head coach Nicolej Krickau described it as a “major loss both sportingly and personally,” highlighting Wiede’s importance and leadership on and off the court. Managing director Bob Hanning added that Wiede was “more indispensable than ever” and assured him full support from the club throughout his recovery
