First victim of Olympics “14 players” rule: Wilbek “cut” Lars Christiansen!

News of the Day in Scandinavian handball is Danish NT coach, Ulrik Wilbek’s decision to invite only one left wing (Anders Eggert) for the Olympic Games preparations. That means that handball legend, one of the best left wing ever, Lars Christiansen (40) after 338 matches and 1503 goals for NT won’t finish his career on the spectacular way in London.

Wilbek’s squad:

Goalkeepers: Niklas Landin, BSV, and Marcus Cleverly, Kielce

Wings: Hans Lindberg, HSV, Lasse Svan Hansen and Anders Eggert, both of Flensburg.

Line players: Rene Toft Hansen, AGK, and Michael V. Knudsen, Flensburg.

Backs: Kasper Søndergaard, Skjern, Thomas Mogensen, Flensburg, Mikkel Hansen, AGK, Nikolaj Markussen, Atletico Madrid, Bo Speller Lasse Berg and Boes, KIF Kolding, Rasmus Fellowship, BSV

Defense: Kasper Nielsen, BSV.
