The French team won first match in 2019 against Slovenia 34:25 (18:11). It was a replay of WCh 2017 semi-final, but only on the paper as Slovenian team was without many stars who were in the team two years ago. Slovenian NT coach Veselin Vujovic took a chance to give some minutes to other candidates, as Slovenia will miss upcoming Men’s IHF World Championship 2019 in Germany and Denmark.
