Frederik Bjerre to join Orlen Wisla Plock

Orlen Wisla Plock PRESS RELEASE
ORLEN Wisła Płock Announce a Blockbuster Transfer! The Blue-White-Blue colours will soon be strengthened by Frederik Bjerre. The 25-year-old Danish left wing, the third-highest scorer in the EHF Champions League this season, has signed a three-year contract with the reigning Polish champions.
Frederik Bjerre is one of the standout players of the current EHF Champions League season and a true revelation of the competition. The 25-year-old left wing from Danish club GOG made life difficult for ORLEN Wisła Płock in their head-to-head clashes, confirming his class both at home and in Płock—scoring 9 and 7 goals respectively. Bjerre is currently the third-highest scorer in the Champions League with 78 goals, which best illustrates his consistency, on-court maturity, and huge offensive potential.
Bjerre has also been excellent from the 7-metre line—37 goals with an efficiency above 84% is proof of his composure, precision, and ability to take responsibility in the most important moments. Fast and dynamic, with great movement on the wing and a strong feel for combination play, he perfectly fits the profile of a modern left wing. His game intelligence, bravery in duels, and high technical quality make him a complete and highly promising player.
It is no coincidence that Frederik Bjerre is seen as one of ORLEN Wisła Płock’s biggest reinforcements for the coming years. The Dane will join the “Nafciarze” from the 2026/2027 season and will represent the Blue-White-Blue colours for the next three seasons. His arrival will significantly raise the level of competition on the wing, strengthen the team’s attacking potential, and add speed and efficiency in fast breaks and set offense. For Płock fans, this means the prospect of watching a player who can become one of the team’s leaders and a key pillar in Wisła’s pursuit of the highest goals on domestic and European courts.
“Joining such a big and ambitious club as ORLEN Wisła Płock is a huge honour for me and the fulfilment of my sporting dreams. I’ve already started learning Polish and I can’t wait to feel the unique atmosphere of ORLEN Arena again, meet the Blue-White-Blue supporters, and become part of the club—both on the court and off it. Playing in such a strong team full of quality and talent is an extremely exciting challenge for me. I’m convinced that under coach Xavi, with whom I’ve had many inspiring conversations about the future, I’ll be able to continue developing as a player. I have high ambitions for the coming seasons—both in the Polish ORLEN Superliga and in the Champions League. I believe we have everything we need to compete at the highest level. I wish the team good luck in the rest of the season and see you at the start of the next one. Let’s go, Nafciarze!” said Frederik Bjerre.
This season, his name is increasingly on the lips of experts and fans across Europe. Frederik Bjerre is a true revelation—still relatively young, yet already performing at the highest level and standing out with his scoring and on-court maturity. He is a real gem for ORLEN Wisła Płock. The Dane is an elite finisher, and his statistics both from open play and from the 7-metre line speak for themselves. He is a player of very high sporting quality who will certainly be a major reinforcement for our team and will raise its level even further. His move to Płock will allow us to compete at an even higher level and reach for more successes both in Poland and in Europe,” commented Adam Wiśniewski, Sporting Director of ORLEN Wisła Płock.
