Wisla Plock ready to pay €500,000 for Nebojsa Simic?
ORLEN Wisla Plock are reportedly preparing a major move for MT Melsungen goalkeeper Nebojsa Simic.
According to information reported by Sport Bild, the Polish champions are interested in bringing the 33-year-old Montenegrin international to Plock and are ready to make a significant financial investment to complete the transfer.
Simic is under contract with MT Melsungen until the summer of 2029, meaning that Wisla would have to negotiate a transfer fee with the Bundesliga club. According to the report, the Polish side could be prepared to pay at least €500,000 to release the goalkeeper from his current deal.
The financial package offered to the experienced goalkeeper is also said to be substantial. Sport Bild reports that Simic currently earns around €18,000 net per month in Melsungen, while Wisla Plock are allegedly offering him approximately €30,000 net per month.
Such figures would represent one of the most significant goalkeeper deals in European handball.
Simic has been with MT Melsungen since 2017, when he joined the German club from IFK Kristianstad. Over almost a decade in the Bundesliga, he has developed into one of the club’s most recognizable players and a fan favourite thanks to his emotional style and spectacular performances.
Interestingly, Wisla Plock and MT Melsungen are also opponents in this season’s EHF Champions League, adding another dimension to the transfer story.
For now, there is no official confirmation of an agreement between the clubs, but if the reported numbers are accurate, Wisla Plock appear determined to make a major investment in their goalkeeping department.
