French Ivry wants to progress: Struga and Marrane to find the form

One of the most succesful French teams ever, Ivry Handball will participate at traditional 41st International Tournament in Macedonian city of Struga from 14 to 18 of August.  Ivry Handball was the best team in history of French handball before era of Montpellier began in 1998. Team from Paris suburb has won the eight national Championship, the last time in 2007. In the last couple of seasons, Ivry’s results aren’t on level of the team history. With 10th place in season 2012/2013 nobody can’t be satisfied:

– Our goal is to finish between 6th and 8th place next season – says Ivry’s coach Pascal Leandri. Higher ambitions are based on signing of three players with international background. Pablo Simonet (Cuenca), Novica Rudovic (Sporting Lisbon) and Diego Humet (HCM Constanta) will give more international look and energy to the French team. The first star Diego Simonet left the team and signed contract with Montpellier and with him is missed a chance to see three brothers in one team – Diego, Sebastian and the youngest one, Pablo.

As his older brother Diego, Pablo Simonet is playmaker. He led Argentina Junior team at WCH 2013 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they played at TOP 16.

Ivry starts official season with two home matches against Nantes and Aix. The form will built in Macedonia in the middle of August and afterwards at traditional Marrane tournament.
