Gisli Kristjansson expected better tournament with Iceland: We still have two games

Iceland are still without points at Main Round of the Men’s EHF EURO 2024 in Germany. Strong Icelandic squad faced second defeat in a row, third at the tournament, this time against France 32:39. In 60 minute of battle at Lanxess Arena, Iceland didn’t have a chance to prevail and take advantage. Playmake Gisli Kristjansson talked for Handball-Planet.com after the match in the mix-zone:

“My feelings says that they did what they wanted. They passed us many times and they always had many options in offence. We absolutely had no chance today”, said Gisli and added that “he expected better tournament for Iceland”:

“We have not shown our potential. It is difficult like today, when we have always open chance missing, 7-meter missing, with never get chance to lead and that is something we need to fix, because France was today simply too good. Our main goal is to qualify for Olympic qualifications and we need to win next two games”, said Gisli Kristjansson.
