Golla case could change Bundesliga transfer rules!

The transfer saga surrounding Johannes Golla could lead to changes in the German Handball Bundesliga’s transfer regulations.

HBL president Uwe Schwenker has confirmed that the league will discuss possible restrictions on signing players years in advance, including the introduction of transfer windows similar to football.

Golla wants to return to Flensburg just months after joining MT Melsungen, citing family reasons and mental health concerns.

Schwenker believes that announcing transfers one or two years in advance can create problems for players, clubs and fans. The issue will be discussed at the next HBL board meeting.
