Handball Madness in the Faroes: 18 Charters, 7,000 Tickets, One Cruise Ship

The handball fever surrounding this super-talented generation shows no signs of cooling down in the Faroe Islands!
The Faroese will play in Oslo in a preliminary-round group with Montenegro, Slovenia and Switzerland, and the level of interest back home — on an island with just 54,000 inhabitants — is enormous.
Faroese fans have bought 7,000 tickets for the first phase of the tournament. As many as 18 charter flights have been booked, along with a cruise ship carrying 1,000 people. The ship, which will be stationed in the Norwegian capital, will also serve as accommodation for Faroese supporters.
The only thing dampening the party is an injury to Kiel centre back Skipagøtu, who isn’t ready for the start — but the Faroese still have plenty of other trump cards…
