Hugo Bryan Monte to stay in Montpellier until 2029


Brazil impressed at the Handball World Championship, and one of their key players, Hugo Bryan Monte, has been rewarded with a contract extension at Montpellier until 2029.
Monte, 21, initially caused concern during a pre-tournament friendly against Germany when he injured his ankle but recovered in time to shine at the World Championship. Brazil stunned teams like Spain, Norway, and Sweden, reaching the quarterfinals before falling to Denmark.
Monte joined Montpellier in April 2023 from Esporte Clube Pinheiros and has since played 67 matches across all competitions. Now, he will continue showcasing his talent at the French club for four more years.
