Hungary win in Israel, Chema Rodriguez: Their style is hard to follow

Hungary are step closer to the placement at World Championship 2023 after away win in Israel 33:32 (17:18). Although they were three goals down in the middle of the second half, players led by coach Chema Rodriguez have found the way to get out of the crisis which last since Men’s EHF EURO 2022 at home, where they ended competition after the Preliminary Round:

  • I expected pretty much what I got from the match. We do not have such a style of play, low, agile and fast players are the most unpleasant opponents. At first we had a harder time picking up the rhythm, then luckily we turned the meeting around, and of course I’m especially pleased to have won my first stakes match as a federal captain, plus away. At the same time, I know that we also need to be sensible in the retaliation in Tatabánya, because Israel will play in the same awkward style – said Rodriguez.
