Is EHF EURO 2024 the last EC for Mikkel Hansen?
Mikkel Hansen will try to win the second EURO gold medal with Denmark at Men’s EHF EURO 2024. The legendary left back celebrated his 36th birthday last October and it is very possible to see him the last time at some European event.
“It could probably be… – I haven’t come that far in thinking when I want to stop playing for the national team, or when I want one and the other. But it’s all about your gut feeling. If you suddenly feel that now it feels right that I’m not going to join next time, then somehow it’s a little cooler to stop.”, said Hansen for Danish media.
Member of Aalborg Handball was a part of the squad who won gold medal at Men’s EHF EURO 2012 in Belgrade, Serbia. He was also influental in three World Championship gold medals and Olympic golden journey in Rio 2016.
It looks that upcoming World Championship 2025 which will partly be played in Denmark alongside Norway and Croatia, will be the perfect chance for the “last dance”
