Is it possible for Iceland to get “handball president”?

The big story of the Icelandic presidential elections which should be held in June could be a “handball candidate”.
Legendary Icelandic handball goalkeeper Bjorgvin Pal Gustavson could be one of the candidates for this position.
The 38-years old member of Valur has a strong sports background as he was a part of legendary Icelandic generation which won Olympic silver in 2008 and EHF EURO 2010 bronze in Austria.
Gustavson for now put on hold this story with Facebook post in which he said that “he didnt make any decision about candidature” focusing on his family and upcoming Men’s EHF EURO 2024 in Germany where Icelanders have high ambitions in group with Serbia, Montenegro and Hungary.
