Jacobsen Plays a New Ace: Arnoldsen Added to Denmark Squad

Denmark’s men get an extra card to play as early as Wednesday’s final main-round match against Norway. Head coach Nikolaj Jacobsen has brought Thomas Arnoldsen into the European Championship squad.
The Aalborg playmaker joined the team on Tuesday, meaning he can also take part in the afternoon training session.
Arnoldsen has been sidelined with a fractured shinbone since late November, but made his comeback last Thursday for Aalborg in a friendly against second-division side Vendsyssel Elite, where he scored 14 goals.
“Thomas’ rehabilitation has gone really well, and over the last couple of weeks he has made big progress. After the match on Thursday his body also responded well, and that’s why we decided to call Thomas in.
“He has some obvious qualities, and then we’ll see if it’s something we’ll need during the tournament,” says national coach Nikolaj Jacobsen.
Thomas Arnoldsen replaces line player Andreas Magaard in the squad as the second of the two available substitutions during the main round.
