Latvia wins Riga Council Cup 2014

Men’s 17th international four-team handball tournament “Riga Council Cup 2014” was won by Latvia on Sunday. Estonia took 2nd place, Italy – 3rd place, Finland – 4th place.

On on first day of tournament Latvia won Finland with 34:23, but Estonia took over Italy – 35:27. On Saturday Latvia celebrated victory over Italy (27:25), bet Estonia played in a draw with Finland (24:24). On last day of tournament Italy won Filand (29:28) and get 3rd place, but Latvia played in a draw with Estonia (22:22) which was sufficiently to win the tournament.

Top-scorer of the “Riga Council Cup 2014” was Latvian Janis Pavlovics with 20 goals, but MVP trophy got Estonian Andris Celmins.
