Russia win Riga Council Cup 2015

Men’s 18th  international four-team handball tournament “Riga Council Cup 2015” this Monday was won by national team of Russia. Last year’s winner Latvia take a 2nd place.

Tournament started on the 26th of December when Russia won Egypt (31:24), but Latvia dramatically lost to Belarus (26:28). Day later latvians took first win by outplay Egypt (29:24), but russians get second success in convincing victory against Belarus (34:24). On the last day of tournament Egypt won Belarus (27:24), bet Russia celebrated victory over home team Latvia (30:19).

Russia national team finised tournament with 3-0 and deservedly get the winners cup. The rest of the teams concluded the tournament with one win and two losses, but better goal difference secured 2nd place to Latvia. 3rd finished Belarus, 4th – Egypt.

Top-scorer of the “Riga Council Cup 2015″ was Ali Mohamed from Egypt (16 goals), but MVP trophy got captain of team Latvia Ingars Dude.
