Euphoria in Skopje. One of the greatest handball evenings in the history of our sport in this Balkan country. Vice-champion RK Metalurg beat one of the best teams in the world, the richest one for sure, French PSG. Success is even bigger if you know the fact that one of the most important players left back Filip Mirkulovski was out after knee surgery. Croatian coach, world’s and Olympic winner Lino Cervar was delighted:
– My players, from the first to the last, they deserved a big congratulations. This is a huge present to our fans. Thank you all. This is a gift to all the people who supporting us in last few years. Players understood really good my message at the half-time break. I told them that they are worth more than they think that. That is a message to all Macedonians. I see that people here understimate themselves, but they have to change that – said Cervar after the historical match:
– This table would be full of medals of Paris’ players. I don’t want to miss any of my players from Stanic and Vugrinec to the last one. They were fantastic. We showed what we can do together. This was more than game, more than handball.
Cervar gave some tactical secrets…
– We need more sefconfidence. We have a plan to start with 6-0, than we combined with 5-1, 5+1 on Narcisse. At the end, the heart won. I told to the players at half-time break that we have to keep close to them until the last minutes. At the end we saw that they are also human being, like we are. Theye lost accuracy and selfconfidence at the final part of the match. My players believed and heart won.
Fans were amazing…
– Don’t tell me again that this is a theatre! These fans are brilliant. They were 8th player all the time. It’s a time for beer, many, many beers tonight. We are going to celebrate, but we are already prepare for BAnjaluka. Next match. We have to stay modest, season is long, we will also lose…

Be happy for the moment, Lino. But I doubt that Skopje will have any chance to reach final4-tournament.
