Selestat pulled a surprise in the 8th round of the LNH, in which Montpellier was expected to finally win comfortably as they had Gajic, Tej and Karabatic back in the team. With a 30:30 at home, Selestat continued the agony of Montpellier that started with the betting scandal that kept some of the players away from the playing field and which reflected itself with the teams results. Dragan Gajic had 11 goals, Issam Tej 10, and Nikola Karabatic 6 goals – but all this was not enough for the victory. Petrenko and Pesic had 5 goals each for Selestat.
This puts not Montpellier on the 5th place with 10 points, 6 less than Paris HC (8 games, 8 wins).
