International youth handball tournament “MAKARSKA 2013” will be organized on the beautiful Adriatic coast from 26th to 30th of June. One of the most active handball cities in Croatia, Makarska and organizer – local team ZRK Makarska Hoteli continue with the project which gathered thousands and thousands young players and teams from many countries during last decade and a half.
– 15 clubs from Norway with over 20 teams and 250 players already applied for the tournament in April. Over 150 parents are coming to enjoy on the seaside with the players. That would be a real little Scandinavian “handball invasion” on Makarska – says one of the organizers, Tina Medjurecan – Frankovic for handball-planet.com.
In Makarska will also come team from African Congo (“Leopards”), but also Latvians, teams from Russia, Romania, Italy, Ukraine and many more from Croatia and countries from the neighborhood.
– Our permanent guest is Austrian Hypo, but also another champion – ZRK Buducnost Podgorica, then Slovenian Olimpija, Bruck Muhr, etc.
Organizers expect that “MAKARSKA 2013” break all the previous records. Last year edition gathered 830 players from 11 countries. It will be interesting to see, whether will mix of handball, sun and sea smash number of 1000….
