  • First of all I am very grateful to all who voted for me. It’s a big honour to receive this prize and coming to same group with some of the best players in history.  Also big thank to both teams which I a playing for – Denmark and Fuchse Berlin, for my team-mates, we achieved something really great and I was just a small piece of the big puzzle. I am very grateful and honoured to be selected – said Gidsel and added:
  • I am only 24 so I hope to stay on this level for many years, but it wlll be very hard. There are lot of amazing players in the world. I am just trying to focus on myself and my team’s goals, to have fun every day and mantain level I have played last years – concluded World Handball Player 2023.

Zika Bogdanovic, editor of Handball-Planet.com:

– I am very happy to meet Mathias and give him a trophy which will remind him on amazing year behind. We are all witnessing that IHF doesn’t organize their traditional Contest year by year, it’s bad for our sport, so this award will be a try to “keep memory” on those who were at the TOP level in 2023. Handball-Planet.com voting exist since 2011 and I am proud to say that we always praised really the best one – said Bogdanovic.
