Mysterious theft of Füchse Berlin’s Bundesliga trophy

Füchse Berlin confirm that the club’s championship trophy was stolen from the club’s administration earlier this week.

The official Bundesliga trophy, which marks the first German championship in the club’s history, was removed from the building under still unclear circumstances.

The club states that the case has been handed over to the police and that there will therefore be no further comments at this time. The stolen trophy has great symbolic significance in Berlin. The championship was secured in the spring and was the culmination of a season in which the team stood on the shoulders of profiles such as Mathias Gidsel and Dejan Milosavljev, who, together with the rest of the squad, lifted the club to their first-ever Bundesliga title.

For now, Füchse Berlin hopes that the investigation can quickly shed light on what happened – and that the club’s first championship trophy can return to its rightful place.
