Andrija Nikolic resigns from RK Zagreb coach position

Andrija Nikolić has resigned from his position as head coach of the first team of handball club Zagreb.

Coach Nenad Šoštarić will take over the team.

Andrija Nikolić:

“Through this message I would like to inform everyone that I have resigned as head coach of Zagreb’s first team. I believe that at this moment this is the best decision for the club. The decision was not easy. I would like to thank the club for the trust they placed in me. I also thank all our players and everyone in the club for the good cooperation. I wish everyone the best of luck for the rest of the season.”

Damir Bičanić, the club’s sporting director:

“After the last defeat, coach Nikolić decided to resign. It should be said that the team played well in several matches and left a good impression, but unfortunately the position in the standings is far below expectations, and therefore the club’s management has decided to accept his resignation. I would like to thank coach Nikolić for his commitment, dedication, and work.”

RK Zagreb have eight defeats in a row at the start of the season 2025/2026.
