Ortega before Final4 2024: We are here, sixth time in a row!

He is the most successful man in the history of the EHF Champions League as a player and the coach with seven titles. Antonio Carlos Ortega secured the third appearance as a coach of FC Barcelona in his third season at “Blaugrana”. Spaniard who won the EHF CL crown in his debut season with Barca in 2022, talked for Handball-Planet.com about Final4 2024.
- It isn’t easy to arive here. You have to be proud to be here sixth time in a row as Barca. To be the coach of Barca is always about pressure. You have to work and know about it. We passed some difficult moments, new players need a season to adapt to playing in Barcelona. Maybe not everyone thought that we would be here, but we are. All four teams have chances always. It’s a weekend tournament. Good performance of goalkeeper or amazing defence – said Ortega and added:
- Kiel is always Kiel. We have a lot of respect for them. They had a lot of up and downs in the Bundesliga. It’s not about fourth place, but number of points which they lost. But this is a chance for them to win and conclude that “season was not so bad” – concluded Ortega.
