The proceedings were initiated following a dispute between Mr. Xavier Sabate of Orlen Wisla Plock and Mr. Carlos Ortega of Barça. The conduct of both officials was classified as serious unsportsmanlike behaviour, with aggravating circumstances identified in relation to Mr. Ortega.
As a result, the Court of Handball suspends Mr. Ortega for one match from EHF club competitions. Additionally, Mr. Ortega has to pay a fine of €1,500. Furthermore, Mr. Sabate has to pay a fine of €750.
An appeal may be filed by both parties with the EHF Court of Appeal within seven days.
