Coaching change in Bucharest – Vasile is out

Despite being unbeaten and leading the Romanian league, CSM Bucharest have dismissed head coach Adrian Vasile after a poor start in the EHF Champions League (only four points from six games, including a loss to Krim Ljubljana).
Former assistant and club legend Iulia Curea takes over as interim coach ahead of the match against Sola HK. Team manager Cristina Varzaru has also resigned.
Vasile, part of CSM since 2014 and head coach since 2019, previously won three national titles, three Romanian Cups, and a Super Cup with the club. Curea, a 2016 Champions League winner with CSM, now leads the team. Vasile only took over from Dane Helle Thomsen in the summer.
