Palić Joins Europe’s Beach Handball Map with Ambitious EBT Tournament

The beach handball season in Serbia and the region will reach one of its peaks during the summer months, with one of the most important tournaments set to take place in Palić from 17 to 19 July. In the beautiful surroundings of one of Serbia’s most attractive tourist destinations, beach handball teams will compete for valuable points at an event organised by the Old School association and Handball No Limit. Lake Palić will become one of the stops on the European Beach Handball Tour, which stretches across the continent from Portugal and Spain to Bulgaria.
Last year, 12 teams took part in the tournament, while the organisers expect that number to be even higher this summer. Team accommodation will be provided at the newly opened student centre in Palić, located just a seven-minute walk from the playing courts. Between 250 and 300 participants are expected. All the conditions for a high-quality tournament are in place, and registration is still open.
All participants and spectators can also look forward to a rich entertainment programme. During match breaks, there will be activities and a mini beach handball tournament, giving children the opportunity to try their hand at the sport.
“Following an invitation from our friends from the Old School organisation, Handball No Limit will, for the first time, take part in organising a beach handball tournament. We have several goals ahead of us. Our primary aim is to host domestic teams and give them the opportunity to gain an advantage by collecting a significant number of EBT points in their own country. At the same time, we want to welcome teams from various countries and showcase the beauty of our region and everything Palić has to offer. So far, we have teams from Poland, Croatia, Russia, France and Switzerland, along with announcements of guests from other countries,” said David Miloradovic from Handball No Limit, the organiser of several international camps, who will now try to raise beach handball competition in his hometown to an even higher level.
International delegates and referees will ensure that the tournament runs smoothly and at the highest standard.
“On the other hand, our strategic goal is to establish ourselves on the EBT map as a tournament that attracts quality teams and offers serious beach handball. At the same time, we want to present Serbia and Palić to the EHF as a reliable and serious partner in hosting tournaments of this kind,” Miloradović concluded, while also highlighting the people without whom the event would not be possible.
“I would like to mention the manager of the Student Centre, Bojan Paštar, the public utility company Park Palić, and the City of Subotica, led by Mayor Stevan Bakić, who have supported the organisation of this tournament.”
