Regional (Ex-Yu) “S” League with Kielce, Wisla and Tatran!

Representatives of the National Federations (Croatia, BiH, Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia) and teams (Vive Targi Kielce and Tatran Presov) had a meeting in Belgrade, where they agreed some new details about coming “S” Regional league consisted of the best 14 teams in these countries. “S” League will begin at 27th August 2011 and will end with “Final Four” tournament until 31st March 2012. For now, it is clear that League will have 11 teams from Ex-Yu countries (Three from BiH – they found a general sponsor – Sparkasse Bank and two from the other countries mentioned before).

Slovenia and Hungary decided not to participate in the first season of interesting project, but very interested in are Polish TOP teams, Vive Targi Kielce and Wisla Plock, also, Slovak champion, Tatran Presov. In next ten days, these teams has to get confirmation from their Federations to take participation in “S” League. After that, lists of all 14 teams will be known. If Polish and Slovak teams would be stopped from their countries, three more places will be filled from Ex-Yu countries teams (Croatia and Serbia, probably).

Next meeting will be held on 18th March in Belgrade, when will be enacted Statute, Rules, Commisions, Contracts and other things necessary for the official start of this competition.

Insiders speak that for Tatran, confirmation paper from Slovak Federation won’t be a problem, but is still unknown, what will be the answer of Polish Federation?

    That’s good news for my favourite Wisla Plock, but to be honest, I hoped for league with teams from Hungary and Slovenia as well. What if they decide to join league next season? Will some weak teams be thrown out? Or league will consist of 20 teams? It’s too many, isn’t it?
