rk Eurofarm Pelister Coach Ruben Garabaja Quits: “I Didn’t Feel the Support”

The draw with Alkaloid and the defeat to Zagreb in the EHF Champions League were the last straw for Spanish coach Rubén Garabaya on the bench of Macedonian champions Eurofarm Pelister. The expert, who last summer replaced compatriot Raúl Alonso as head coach of the team from the “Boro Čurlevski” arena, has resigned, explaining his decision with the following words:
“I would like to emphasize that after the match against Alkaloid I did not feel support from the environment. I expected a reaction in Zagreb, but since that reaction did not come, I decided to offer my resignation. I believe that my departure at this moment will provoke a positive response from the team and the players. I would like to thank all the players, with whom I have an excellent relationship, and wish them success for the remainder of the season. Great thanks to the club as well for this experience, and I wish them much luck in the future,” Garabaya said.
Eurofarm Pelister finished the calendar year in the EHF Champions League with two wins and eight defeats.
