RK Vardar Skopje won the Macedonian Championship by winning the ninth match in a row in Play-Off. The latest victim of the Raul Gonzales team was the biggest domestic rival in the last decade and now, former champion, RK Metalurg Skopje. Vardar beat Metalurg 28:26 in away match in Autokomanda hall to stay unbeatable in domestic competition this season.
On the other side, this seems to be disasterous season for RK Metalurg. The team who finished twice in the VELUX EHF Champions League TOP 8 in the last two seasons, lost most of the players due financial troubles last winter, but also second place in Macedonia. RK Zomimak Strumica have to confirm the vice-champions position by winning the last match in Play-Off, what will put Lino Červar’s team out of the SEHA GAZPROM league in the next season!
