Rhein Neckar Lowen have only a point from two away matches at VELUX EHF Champions League this season. After lucky draw in Szeged, the “Lions” were also lucky to win against RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko in home match undecided until the last second, but in the Round 3, Belarussian Meshkov Brest were clearly better rival – 30:28 (17:12).
Rhein Neckar Lowen coach Nikolaj Jakobsen criticized his players for a bad approach to the match:
- I am, of course, dissapointed that we left home with empty hands. Our legs weren’t quick enough. We weren’t good in defense in the first half. We can’t play in Champions League in this way – said Jakobsen.
