Romania and Spain make their way towards 2013 Women’s World Championship

Romania and Spain are the first two teams that are quite certain that they can be participating at the 2013 Women’s World Championship in Serbia, after winning their away games against Slovakia and Macedonia. Romania won 23:21 against Slovakia in the end, despite leading 5 goals at a point, with Adriana Tacalie leading them with seven goals. Spain seems to be definitely through after winning in Skopje against Macedonia with 27:21, Barbosa scoring seven goals for Spain.

In the most interesting game, France hosted Croatia, which saw Andrea Penezic return from injury and at the same time scoring the first goal for the team. In this duel everything is left open, after a low-scoring 18:18 was the final score. Kristina Elez had five goals for Croatia, while Pineau and Baudoin scored four each for hosts.
