Sander Sagosen is HP World Handball Player 2020 powered by NBSC
Handball-Planet.com is proud to announce the results of our traditional Contest for the WORLD HANDBALL PLAYER 2020 powered by New Belgrade Summer Cup. The Norwegian superstar, left back/playmaker of THW Kiel, Sander Sagosen, got the highest number of points based on cumulative votes of 10 members of the international jury of handball journalists and visitors of our website. The year 2020 began with unforgettable Men’s EHF EURO 2020 where Sagosen was a leader of the Norwegian team who won bronze medal in Stockholm, but gold waited for him in Cologne, where THW Kiel won EHF Champions League 2020 on December 29.
Sagosen was elected for All-Star teams of Men’s EHF EURO 2020 and EHF Champions League 2019/2020 as the best left back.
This is his second Handball-Planet.com title after 2018.
He became the third player in the history of our Contest (since 2011), who won two titles – after Nikola Karabatic (2014 and 2015) and Mikkel Hansen (2016 and 2019).
Other winners are Arpad Sterbik (2017), Domagoj Duvnjak (2013), Filip Jicha (2012) and Laszlo Nagy (2011).
In three weeks of voting, all of 32 nominated players have got amazing support by the handball community. Handball lovers voted (102.314) for their favorite players in eight categories.
